English UK South West Conference & AGM 2019
This year we hosted the English UK South West Conference & AGM for the fourth year running. The conference, which took place on Saturday 26th October, was for those involved with and interested in the English Language Teaching (ELT) sector.
This year's plenary speaker was Susie Dent who focused on the hidden etymologies and surprising histories of so many of the words we use in 'The Private Lives of Words.'
Susie recently celebrated 25 years as the resident word expert on C4’s 'Countdown', and also appears on the show’s comedy sister '8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown.'
It was an informative and inspiring event which made full use of our conference facilities and various catering packages.
