Last Sunday, Greg Cackett and Taylor Lawrence, the dynamic duo behind our Power Speed Performance Camp along with teammates Brad Hall & Arran Gulliver, achieved a historic victory for the Great Britain Bobsleigh team in Winterberg. Competing in the 4-man event, the team delivered an awe-inspiring performance, claiming the gold medal in a nail-biting finish just 0.19 seconds ahead of their closest competitors. This remarkable achievement marks Great Britain’s first gold medal in a 4-man World Cup race since 2017, showcasing the incredible skill, strength, and determination of Greg, Taylor, and their teammates.
This victory is even more extraordinary because no non-German crew had won in Winterberg since Russia’s Alexander Zubkov in 2012. This impressive streak included 14 World Cup races and two World Championships, highlighting just how significant Greg and Taylor’s achievement is on the international stage. Winterberg’s challenging weather conditions added to the race's difficulty, but Greg and Taylor’s exceptional teamwork and precision powered their sled to victory. This success is not only a milestone for British Bobsleigh but also a testament to the dedication and resilience of the athletes. Their ability to excel under pressure and perform at the highest level inspires athletes across all sports.
Greg and Taylor’s recent triumph reflects the same values and expertise they bring to the Power Speed Performance Camp at Millfield School. As Olympians and world-class athletes, they have a wealth of knowledge to share with the next generation. Participants in the camp will benefit from their firsthand insights into elite training techniques, the importance of mental focus, and the drive needed to achieve excellence.
