A Thrilling Weekend at the Millfield Football Festival

This past weekend, Millfield School’s Kingweston Pitches were alive with energy and excitement as we hosted the Millfield Football Festival. Held from Sunday 26th to Monday 27th October, this event brought together elite youth football talent from across the country for an unforgettable tournament.

Our U15/U16 Millfield Football team hosted academy teams from Bristol City, Exeter City, Fulham, and Wolves, along with squads from the Wales U15, East Cornwall Schools, and the Tyrone Mings Academy, in an intense competition that showcased the best of youth football.

Outstanding Competition and Opportunities

The festival, sponsored by OM Tom Storey (Eco Sports Tours/Coaches Voice), was a great success, offering a highly competitive environment that allowed players to develop and test their skills. The two-day event also provided Millfield School with the invaluable opportunity to connect with numerous clubs, coaches, and scouts from across the football community, further strengthening our ties in the world of youth sport.

The Road to the Final

The event featured three games on Day 1, followed by four games and the highly anticipated final on Day 2. Each match brought intense, skilful play, and Bristol City entered the final match undefeated, taking on a determined Fulham side in a battle of the top two teams.

Fulham struck early in the final, only for Bristol City to respond with a well-timed equaliser before half-time. The game continued to keep spectators on the edge of their seats until a late penalty sealed Fulham’s victory, securing them the prestigious Tyrone Mings Cup! 🏆
