Millfield hosts Cricket Ireland for their Men’s Senior Squad training camp

From 9th to 13th August Millfield hosted the Cricket Ireland Men’s Senior Squad for a training camp at our senior campus in Street.

Facilities used included the first team cricket field, the cricket pavilion, the fitness suite, the outdoor nets and indoor cricket centre which features PitchVision technology on three lanes, a state of the art 4G fielding area, three adaptable bowling and batting surfaces, as well as five nets and an expansive 22 metre run-up.

Part of their bespoke package created by Millfield Enterprises also included on-site accommodation, meals prepared by the experienced in-house catering team and a dedicated Events Co-ordinator for the duration of their stay.

Having hosted events at both national and international levels, we are experienced in providing personalised packages and the wide range of facilities available makes Millfield an ideal location for pre-season camps. Alongside numerous sports facilities including outdoor pitches which are looked after by a professional grounds team, Millfield can provide areas for analysis sessions, physiotherapy and social events, plus use of the 50m swimming pool and fitness suites, with all facilities within a short distance of each other.

Millfield’s Director of Cricket, Mark Garaway, was also on hand to offer support to the team during their stay.

Richard Holdsworth, High Performance Director for Cricket Ireland, was thankful for the team’s time spent at Millfield saying, “The Ireland Men’s squad greatly enjoyed their week at Millfield School, and we would like to thank Mark Garaway and his team for the use of their excellent cricket facilities. Whether it was the turf wicket nets, centre wicket practice, indoor nets or gym, the high-quality standards and level of support they provided means we won’t hesitate to return for a training camp in the future.”

Other groups choosing Millfield for their training camps this summer include England Rugby and Italy Rugby U18s and the British Virgin Island's national football team. Millfield also hosted the England and Wales Home Nations Hockey U16s and U18s trials this summer, which included use of the water-based astros and full board accommodation.
