Evening Activities

An impressive programme of evening activities provides the fun that delivers the true ‘Millfield Experience’.

Evening activities will occur on a daily basis. Events include the Millbury Festival, Water Olympics, Silent Discos, Talent Shows, House Song Competitions, and so much more. On Sundays and Wednesdays, each boarding house will hold a House Event with fun games, helping students to introduce themselves and get to know each other while also having some time to relax following a full-day excursion.

Special Events

On the Millfield English Language Holiday Courses action-packed activities and events provide a memorable experience for all. 

We will offer large events in a wide variety of exciting activities such as Millbury Festival, International Food Festival, Summer Fete and many more.

Excursions

Students enjoy one full-day and one half-day excursion every week. A careful balance of active, historical, fun, experiential and educational excursions are provided. Students are accompanied by Millfield staff who provide help and guidance and ensure students are using spoken English.

Teachers incorporate excursion experiences into lessons, enabling students to take their education beyond the classroom.

Examples of full-day excursions:
Theme Parks & Attractions - Longleat and Thorpe Park 
City Tours – Oxford and Bath 
Seaside Trips - Bournemouth and Portsmouth 
Castles – Windsor and Cardiff 

Examples of half-day excursions:
Wells, Cheddar, SS Great Britain, Sherbourne Castle, and Lyme Regis.

Clubs

Following the afternoon programme, there are a variety of clubs on offer for students to enjoy. This is an opportunity to try something new or join with friends in the same activity. 

Example clubs: Chess, Badminton, Football, Tennis, Netball, Frisbee, Dance, Yoga, Drama, Music, Pilates, Musical Theatre

Mornings at Millfield - Academic Programme

Millfield English Language Holiday Courses are accredited by the British Council and teachers are appropriately trained to teach English as a Foreign Language.

Our main focus is delivering an engaging learning experience suitable for each student's ability; all of the students attending our courses will participate in at least 15 hours of English tuition per week.

All teaching materials are provided and are included in the cost of the course. On successful completion of the course, all students will receive an academic report, general report and course certificate.

Afternoons at Millfield - Activities and Extra English

We offer a wide range of enjoyable activities for students to take part in for four afternoons a week. Students can choose one option per week. At Street Campus, students can choose to study an extra 8 hours of English per week by choosing the English Workshops afternoon option.

Health & Welfare

Students are supervised 24 hours a day and student health or welfare problems are spotted quickly and dealt with promptly by staff who have a qualification in Safeguarding.
