Students who show outstanding progress, whose efforts in sports competitions is exceptional, or who make a positive impact around campus are rewarded with a Top Banana t-shirt.
Each week a prefect will be selected from each boarding house. Prefects act as the representative for the students in their house and attend a meeting with management to provide feedback. Prefects will receive a special t-shirt.
Head Boy and Head Girl (Street Campus only)
Each week a Head Boy and a Head Girl is selected to represent all of the students on the courses that week. Students are selected by excelling in a variety of ways around campus including in lessons, in their boarding house and in their activities. The Head Boy and Head Girl will receive a special t-shirt.
The Learning Notebook which is given to all students at the start of their course contains an Achievements section; the aim is for students to try to complete as much of the section as possible by performing well during lessons, working hard during afternoon options and being an all-round good student. Students who complete the section will be rewarded with our coveted slogan t-shirt.
Duck Guardians (Glastonbury Campus only)
Students who display a caring and helping nature around campus are given the Duck Guardian award and help to look after the friendly campus ducks! Duck Guardians will receive a special t-shirt.
There is a weekly competition for students to work together in their boarding house groups to win the House Cup! At Street students compete for the cup through evening activities, for example, the Millfield Olympics, House Song Competition and House Dance Competition. At Glastonbury students work hard throughout the week to receive Star Cards, with the house achieving the most Star Cards winning the cup.
Health & Welfare
Students are supervised 24 hours a day and student health or welfare problems are spotted quickly and dealt with promptly by staff who have a qualification in Safeguarding.
A full social programme is provided at each campus and is included in the course fees. This ensures that every student is kept busy and has maximum opportunity to practise English whilst making friends with students from around the world, in a fun and enjoyable environment, making every moment special.
Mornings at Millfield - Academic Programme
Millfield English Language Holiday Courses are accredited by the British Council and teachers are appropriately trained to teach English as a Foreign Language.
Our main focus is delivering an engaging learning experience suitable for each student's ability; all of the students attending our courses will participate in at least 15 hours of English tuition per week.
All teaching materials are provided and are included in the cost of the course. On successful completion of the course, all students will receive an academic report, general report and course certificate.
Afternoons at Millfield - Activities and Extra English
We offer a wide range of enjoyable activities for students to take part in for four afternoons a week. Students can choose one option per week. At Street Campus, students can choose to study an extra 8 hours of English per week by choosing the English Workshops afternoon option.
We offer a range of optional extras including transfers, exams and courier delivery for paperwork.
