Trinity GESE (Graded Examinations in Spoken English) - Week 3 & Week 6
For students aged 12-17 years
Students have an opportunity to gain a qualification which demonstrates their level of spoken English. This qualification is recognised and accepted by many universities all over the world.
The exams are one-to-one with a Trinity examiner and are designed to build on what students learn within the general English programme. Exam preparation focuses on the development of communicative skills and building confidence. Preparation sessions are held during club time and on Sunday mornings under the direction of an experienced Senior Teacher.
GESE exams are available at 12 levels, from grade 1 to Grade 12 (pre-A1 to C2 CEFR proficiency levels). Experienced teachers help students identify which grade they want to work towards based on their placement test score, age and confidence in speaking English.
The exam takes place at Street campus at the end of week 3 and week 6.
Photographic ID is required at time of registration in the form of a scanned ID document, and all students must ensure they have photographic ID on them when they sit the exam. Please note that both ID documents will be compared.
Airport/Eurostar Transfers - Arrival & Departure
For students aged 12-17 years
The transfer prices are for return journeys (arrival and departure travel) on the arranged Sundays only.
St. Pancras International Station (Eurostar)
Students arriving at Gatwick will be collected for onward travel via Heathrow.
It is the parents’/agent’s responsibility to arrange flights/trains. Please inform us of the student’s flight/train details and request transfers if required by completing the Student Travel Details section on the application form. Ideal times for arrival or departure at UK airports/stations are between 12.00 and 18.00 on the allocated transfer day. Some students may have to await the arrival of other students before leaving the airport.
Students who have requested a Millfield transfer will be met at the airport by a Millfield Representative who will be wearing a red Millfield t-shirt and carrying a Millfield sign. Staff will accompany students back to the airport/station and supervise the check-in procedure. All journeys outside the offered transfer days and to and from different airports/stations than those offered will need to be arranged by the parent/agent. Alternatively, parents/agents can make their own travel arrangements for students.
Please note: Millfield Enterprises will not accept responsibility for organising airport transfers other than on the specified dates or at the designated airports. Students making their own travel arrangements need to inform us of their plans by completing the Student Travel Details form and returning it to us by the date specified on the form. Students making their own travel arrangements should aim to arrive at Millfield between 10.00 and 17.00.
Written confirmation will be given to confirm receipt of the Student Travel Details form. To ensure that we are aware of last minute changes, please ensure that you receive written confirmation from the Course Administrators at Millfield.
