Academic Options

Millfield’s main aim is to provide students with an engaging learning experience suitable to their ability. In the mornings there are four options to choose from, each consisting of 15 teaching hours per week.

Students at Glastonbury Campus can choose one of the following English options: General English or Academic Explorers.

All teaching materials are provided and are included in the cost of the course. On successful completion of the course, all students will receive a report and course certificate.

General English

Available in weeks 1-4
For ages 6-11

This option is suitable for all abilities with students participating in English classes with trained teachers. Students will take a placement test on arrival and from this will be placed in multinational classes with those of a similar age and English level. Teachers involve students when planning their lesson in order to meet their interests and language needs. Each week there is a choice of 3 broad topics enabling teachers to plan an interesting and engaging lesson programme. All lessons include communicative activities and functional language which can be used in real-life situations.
