Academic Programme Overview

Academic Programme

Millfield English Language Holiday Courses are accredited by the British Council and teachers are appropriately trained to teach English as a Foreign Language.

Our main focus is delivering an engaging learning experience suitable for each student's ability; all of the students attending our courses will participate in at least 15 hours of English tuition per week.

All teaching materials are provided and are included in the cost of the course. On successful completion of the course, all students will receive an academic report, general report and course certificate.

Street Campus (ages 12-17)

Students can choose one of the following English options: General English, Academic English, Cambridge Assessment English or Global Young Leaders (ages 14-17 only).

English Options: Street Campus

Learning Notebooks

All students attending our courses will receive a Learning Notebook which includes sections for each part of the academic experience, with different notebooks for each of the English options available, specifically tailored to the core programme of whichever option a student chooses.

The notebooks also contain an Achievements section; the aim is for students to try to complete as much of the section as possible by performing well during lessons, working hard during afternoon options and being an all-round good student.

English Mentors

Young mentors guide, support, and help international students to develop friendships and model spoken English. They are residential and take part in all English lessons, activities, excursions, and social events.

The scholarship programme was first introduced in 2012 to maximise the use of English among international students during the courses.
