A Sense of Adventure (Outdoor Pursuits & Activities)
Our Outdoor Pursuits and Activities Course will provide children with the opportunity to share an adventure unlike any other.
Our new Outdoor Pursuits and Activity Course is set to be one of our most popular offers, with over 400 acres of land across our sites and amazingly diverse facilities from purpose built climbing walls to paintball ranges, we’re well equipped to host a wide range of exciting activities. A typical fun packed week includes outdoor climbing, paintballing, range shooting, orienteering, canoeing, caving, outdoor cooking, bushcraft, team building, and who needs snow when you can grass sledge!
The week will provide participants with an introduction to outdoor pursuits and adventure activities, with expert guidance from our outdoor pursuits instructors, attendees will take part in a diverse set of adventure activities and team building challenges. What’s more, you will be developing important resilience and communication skills without even realising it!
You will get settled in outdoors for the night in order to test your skills with a Thursday night camp out experience, with participants pitching their tents testing their tent assembly skills on one of our many onsite woodland areas. Other activities will include preparing your own dinner by cooking on camping stoves, providing an introduction to basic camping skills, and enjoying being outdoors whilst also using the expedition skills you have learned throughout the week.

Discover the excitement and adventure of exploring some of the natural cave systems in the Mendips. Under the expert leadership of your instructor you will walk, crawl and scramble around one of the classic caves of the region.
On this activity, you will learn to navigate using a map and compass. The session can include a hill walk during which participants will put what they have learned throughout the week into practice.
Our onsite purpose built climbing walls are the perfect place to feel a sense of achievement when you reach the top. Our qualified instructors will teach you how to recognise and control risks whilst also learning basic skills and techniques.
You will be taught in small teams by qualified instructors to map read, enabling you to locate clues around the orienteering course. The course includes a range of physical and intellectual challenges designed to encourage cooperation and develop problem solving.
Grass sledging is a perfect summer activity, a fun way to try something a little bit different. During sledging you will learn the key to teamwork whilst enjoying the speed and challenge of maneuvering a sledge.
A Target sport including four rounds of laser pistol shooting from 10 meters distance. You are initially shown how to assess and manage risk followed by learning the technical skills and thrill of this exciting activity.
Under the guidance of our qualified instructors, you will learn the skills and techniques needed to work as a team in open canoes. The risks associated with working in a water environment will be explained then you will be shown how to manage them and enjoy the canoe experience.
At the foot of Glastonbury Tor our stunning orchard offers a great location for an amazing paintball experience where you will battle it out against others in your group as you’ll pit your wits against one another to see who will reign victorious.

Lunch, snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout each day as well as dinner and breakfast during the thursday night camp out experience
Please note, this course is offered on a non-residential basis only (however the course includes a one night camping experience on Thursday evening)
We've introduced additional hygiene and safety measures to all of our courses.
A non-residential course for ages 5-12 where children will participate in a wide range of energetic and creative activities such as climbing, t-shirt painting, cookery, dancing, trampolining, arts and crafts, athletics, pony grooming, Forest School and archery.
During the school holidays we open our facilities to book for hourly time slots.
Facilities available include the pitch and putt, astro pitch, athletics track, cricket nets and tennis courts.
