🔍 About The Spin Academy
The Spin Academy is open to children nationwide aged 11–19. It seeks to discover, improve and support gifted spin bowlers through a blended approach based on the extensive experience of Peter Such – both as an international player and an elite coach.
Over recent years, Peter has worked closely with top-level players including:

Monty Panesar, Graeme Swann, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Jack Leach, Matthew Parkinson, Zafar Ansari, Mason Crane, and Dominic Bess.

He has also supported England U19, England Lions, and numerous County spin bowlers.
Peter’s 20-year professional playing career included:

Over 1,000 First XI County wickets

51 five-wicket hauls, 9 ten-wicket matches
-
37 wickets in 11 Test Matches, including 6 for 67 on debut vs Australia

The core of the programme includes:

Participants will receive:

8 coaching sessions at Millfield from November–March
9th November, 14th December, 21st December, 25th January, 8th February, 22nd February, 22nd March, 29th March -
Ongoing remote support and analysis from Peter throughout the year
Each session includes:

Technical bowling drills

Tactical scenarios
-
Batting sessions
-
Strength & conditioning work
Participants will rotate through stations before receiving bespoke, tailored coaching based on individual development needs.

Peter Such played Test cricket for England and has spent over 20 years developing players as a National Lead Spin Bowling Coach for the ECB.

Mark Garaway
Alongside Peter, Millfield’s Director of Cricket, Mark Garaway, will co-lead the sessions. Mark brings his own elite background as a former England Assistant Coach and Performance Director of Irish Cricket.
Together, they offer unmatched expertise in both technical development and performance coaching.
All sessions take place at Millfield’s world-class cricket centre, which includes:

3 PitchVision-enabled lanes

State-of-the-art 4G fielding area

3 adaptable bowling/batting surfaces

5 nets and 22-metre run-up
While accommodation is not included, families may wish to explore the local area.
