Aspiring Athletes

The Aspiring Athlete Camp is back this summer with an Athletics programme focused towards the 12-15-year-old athlete. The camp will be led by the Head of Athletics at Millfield School alongside the Millfield athletics coaches. The camp provides a great opportunity to develop technical skills, try different events and learn ways to develop practical and workshop-based activities.

The Aspiring Athletes camp provides a perfect balance of core technical sessions and educational workshops to help develop our athletes with the fundamental knowledge to not only enhance their performance but also develop the mindset of an athlete.

Technical sessions include dedicated track and field sessions, general conditioning, mobility and skill development. Educational workshop sessions covering a variety of topics including planning training, competition, nutrition and mentality preparation.

Nutrition is essential for maximizing the benefits of physical activity. For any athlete, eating the right types of food will help reap those benefits but understanding why is just a important!

As an integral part of our camp structure, participants engage in an enlightening nutrition lecture that aims to empower young athletes with knowledge that extends beyond the track.

Competition Day Preparation

Preparing for a competition is more than just practicing skills; it's about strategic planning, mental preparation, and setting clear goals.

Focused sessions on preparing for competitions allows our Aspiring Athletes to better understand the benefits of mental preparation, help to identify their peak mindset performance and overcome performance stress and anxiety.

Track & Field Technical Sessions

Athletes will be able to choose which events they would like to take part in during the camp. Along with general conditioning, mobility and skill development, as well as workshop-based sessions around planning training, competition, and nutrition for young athletes.
